Consider a Parrot
They live years beyond the normal dog or cat so you don't have the grief of losing a pet every ten or so years. Loving and adorable hand-fed parrots are easily introduced to your family and do not require annual shots or monthly heartworm treatments. You need only space in your home for a roomy cage, and in your heart for a great companion. They will eat darn near everything you will, and you don't need a fence around your yard.
Bodcau Aviary is located near Shreveport in Northwest Louisiana forty miles from Arkansas and fifteen miles from Texas. Deciding to start an aviary was most probably the easiest part of starting Bodcau Aviary. At the time in my mind it seemed pretty simple considering the thirty years experience I have training and handling wild imported parrots. As Federal regulations tighten on the importation of wild parrots, the quality of pet parrots will improve. Hand fed and socialized young parrots are so much more responsive and loveable than even the youngest wild caught parrot. With the life span of many parrot species reaching upwards of fifty years, choosing the parrot right for you is very important.
We start hand feeding our babies when they are three to five days old before their little eyes are even open. We pride ourselves in socialized gentle guaranteed to sit on your finger parrots. We start abundance weaning at about six weeks when our quality pet parrots are introduced to fresh veggies and fruits. They are also started on a commercial pellet diet best suited to each different parrot species which should should remain the largest part of their diets when mature.
Green Cheeks are great companions, and will bond easily with every member of the family. They have a very small voice which makes them an ideal pet for the beginner. Even Dennis my nephew takes time when he visits to enjoy a little TLC from Mini. Mini has been placed in a very loving home with a wonderful young man named Tyler.
Beautiful Breeders make beautiful babies, and they are well adjusted pets. I have three pairs that are bonded and proven.
